Microsoft Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM Launches in Bahrain

I was very pleased to see that Intercol, Microsoft (or Nokia) mobiles dealer in Bahrain, have started selling the new Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM for BD86.

I’ve been a loyal Windows Phone user ever since Windows Phone 8.0 came out, starting off with a (then) Nokia Lumia 920 and only upgrading just a little over 6 months ago to a Lumia 930. If it weren’t for me busting the screen I think I would have still been on my 920 simply because the performance and experience is just great regardless of the age of the hardware. I must admit that I am quite the fanboy of Microsoft’s products and services, especially phones!

The Lumia 640 XL seems like a great phone for someone that is looking for a starter mid-range phone from the Lumia range. The specs are pretty decent:

  • 5.7 inch display
  • 13MP main camera
  • 5MP front camera with a wide angle lens to capture everyone in that selfie
  • Quad core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor
  • 1GB of RAM (you’ll run virtually all of the apps in the store butter smooth, unlike other platforms)
  • 8GB of internal storage, expandable with MicroSD cards up to 128GB
  • A lot of other specs that you can find here!

What is interesting is that on the main page of the phone it mentions that you’ll also get 12 months of Office 365 Personal (BD29 on the Microsoft Store), which gives you Office 2013 for your PC plus 1TB of cloud storage on OneDrive!

Oh and did I mention that it also comes in CYAN?!

What isn’t clear however is if these 640 XLs being sold here are the 4G version that is available in some regions, even though the link they point to in their Twitter post leads to the non 4G version. It would be a bit of a disappointment if it isn’t.

You can get it touch with Intercol’s branch in GOSI, Exhibition Avenue on +973-17298080.
